Release Date Out of 'Wonder Woman 2' in 13 December 2019

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman has held better than any superhero film in more than 15 years at the North American box office.

It's official: Wonder Woman 2 has a big holiday release date.

Wonder Woman, released one year later, made £298m ($389m) worldwide and beat its predecessor at the USA box office.

There is no Wonder Woman without star Gal Gadot, but you could argue the same for director Patty Jenkins.

After raking in more than $780 million worldwide, Warner Bros. has scheduled the Gal Gadot-led superhero sequel for December 13, 2019, studio spokesman Jack Horner confirmed to USA TODAY.

After much hemming and hawing, we finally have a Wonder Woman 2 release date.

She's baaaack. Image: Warner Bros. "Wonder Woman" herself changed dates, although still in June. She reasoned out that it's definitely time for Wonder Woman to come to America. "You want to do a movie like this because you believe in it", she continued.

"That puts it opening one week before the "Masters of the Universe" reboot and a little over a week before the highly anticipated musical adaptation "Wicked, ' but as of now 'Wonder Woman 2" is the only superhero movie set for release in December of that year".

Other DC Films supposedly in development include the recently announced Flashpoint set sometime after Justice League, Matt Reeves' The Batman, a Joss Whedon Batgirl film, a Nightwing movie, Green Lantern Corps, a Black Adam film, Gotham City Sirens, and sequels to Suicide Squad and Man of Steel.

The sequel will return star Gal Gadot, who will next appear as Diana Prince in November's "Justice League", the big DC Comics team-up that will also star Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ray Park (Cyborg) and Ezra Miller (the Flash).
