May starts Japan visit amidst Brexit, North Korea actions

May will meet with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday in Tokyo during her first official visit to the East Asian nation, Efe news reported.

Meeting late on Tuesday in NY, the council called the launch "outrageous" and demanded North Korea cease all missile testing.

The two leaders are expected to discuss the possibility of further sanctions on North Korea, May's office said.

The Prime Minister has landed in Japan for an official visit, one day after Pyongyang filed a missile over the north of the country.

Earlier this week, North Korea warned Britain "faces a miserable end" if it takes part in USA and South Korean military exercises in the region.

"We will be redoubling our efforts with our global partners to put pressure on North Korea to stop these illegal activities", May told reporters en route to Tokyo.

May's spokeswoman said the prime minister would reiterate Britain's position that it is seeking to agree a time-limited Brexit transition period after March 2019 to avoid a sudden change in trading and regulatory conditions for businesses.

Britain could launch a cyber strike against North Korea after Theresa May refused to rule out using web warfare to target Kim Jong Un.

She urged China to intervene more vigorously in curbing North Korea's missile ambitions, calling Beijing "the key" to defusing tensions.

Security and defence was always due to be high on the agenda during the Mrs May's three-day trip to Japan, but recent events have added urgency to the talks.

He said "the launch of the medium-long range ballistic missile that passed over Japan's sky was a violent act against a neighboring country beyond provocation", Park told media.

'I'm pleased that I am going to be able to spend a significant amount of time with Prime Minister Abe.

The Government says the United Kingdom is seeking to "cement its position as Japan's strongest security partner in Europe".

'The discussions that have taken place at the UN Security Council are an important part of that'. "I think what Mr Abe wants to hear from the Prime Minister is where she hopes to land on Brexit". But Japanese officials on Tuesday shot down the UK's hopes for a quick trade agreement, saying said they were in no rush to enter negotiations with Britain, especially since it is now negotiating a free trade agreement with the EU.

"You know, even contemplating an idea of new sanctions while we have just adopted the resolution on August 5, devalues the idea itself".
