Trump Made Insecure by Size of Macron's

Trump floated the idea to reporters during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, whom he joined in Paris in July for that country's Bastille Day festivities.

While Trump has announced that the United States will pull out of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, Macron will be hosting a meeting tomorrow to spur its implementation.

Sitting next to French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump said, "We may do something like that on July 4th in Washington down Pennsylvania Avenue".

Addressing the General Assembly, Netanyahu, who vehemently opposes the deal with Iran, called Tehran's nuclear ambitions a "dark shadow" and said its rulers "vow to destroy my country". The two-hour spectacle included tanks rolling down the Champs Elysees and helicopters and fighter jets flying overhead.

The French leader stressed that he made this point to both Trump and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, whom he met on Monday in NY. He said the accord can be enriched with new contributions, "but we won't go back".

Macron said the planet "is taking its revenge on the madness of man".

Trump said he wanted the U.S.to have "a really great parade to show our military strength".

"Why? Because we stopped everything with North Korea years and years ago".

Trump marveled at the French parade, especially its "representatives from different wars and different uniforms".

Macron urged world leaders to join together to confront global challenges, including war, terrorism, immigration and climate change.

Mr Trump said he was prepared "to totally destroy North Korea". He called the Iran nuclear deal-painstakingly negotiated through the U.N. and signed in 2015-an "embarrassment to the United States". "I'm speaking with General Kelly and with all of the people involved, and we'll see if we can do it this year", he added, referring to his Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Mr Trump said he hoped to outdo...

Many world leaders, concerned about America's priorities and role in the world, will get their first chance to hear and meet Trump. "They are very direct people", says Philippe Besson, a Paris novelist whose new book, "A Character Out of a Novel", describes Macron's rise to power. "And I think a tremendous thing for France and for the spirit of France", Trump reminded Macron on Monday.
