Rohingya: The rebels stressed that their truce ends on Monday night

Some 515,000 Rohingya have arrived in Bangladesh from Myanmar's western state of Rakhine in an unrelenting movement of people that began after Myanmar security forces responded to Rohingya militant attacks with a brutal crackdown.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) did not say what action it would take after the ceasefire ends at midnight on Monday, but it was "determined to stop the tyranny and oppression" waged against the Rohingya people.

Hasina said Bangladesh took an appropriate stance to draw worldwide community's attention to the Rohingya crisis which also compelled Myanmar to open talks on the issue.

The refugee crisis erupted after ARSA raids on Myanmar police posts on August 25.

Geneva: The lack of humanitarian access granted by Myanmar's government to Rakhine state, where more than half a million Rohingya Muslims have fled violence, is "unacceptable", the United Nations said on Friday.

As the world's fastest-developing refugee emergency intensifies, there are fears of escalating violence in Myanmar. This week Bangladesh reported 4,000-5,000 Rohingya were crossing the border daily after a brief lull in arrivals, with 10,000 more waiting at the frontier.

Hasina said Bangladesh made makeshift arrangement for shifting Rohingya Muslims to an island called "Bhasan Char" from Cox's Bazar, Media reports.

The new refugee camp will be build at Kutupalong, which is near to the border town of Cox's Bazar.

The Rohingya are regarded as illegal immigrants in Myanmar and most are stateless.

In response, the military unleashed a sweeping offensive across the north of Rakhine State, driving more than half a million Rohingya villagers into Bangladesh in what the United Nations branded a textbook example of "ethnic cleansing".

Rohingya refugees and rights groups have accused the army of setting the fires with the help of Buddhist vigilante mobs.

Hasina said that at one stage after the forced exodus of Rohingyas the Myanmar "pretended like they wanted a war".

"When you concentrate too many people into a very small area, particularly the people who are..."

"This crisis isn't going to end soon", said a Bangladeshi interior ministry official who declined to be identified.

An estimated 2,000 Rohingya are arriving in Bangladesh every day, Joel Millman of the International Organization for Migration, told a separate briefing.
